Circular mahogany coffee table
This Circular mahogany coffee table would have been first made circa 1850. Originally made as a breakfast table, it was then reduced in height many years ago to be used as a coffee table.
Coffee tables were a 20thc. innovation, and so people who wanted lovely items of furniture but the elegance and quality of antiques, would adapt redundant or less useful items to make into coffee tables.
This table has a shaped apron running around the circular table top. The top with a lovely figured mahogany top.
The table top sits on a scalloped shaped circular base, with carved paw feet below.
As this table is of a good size, it will make a special piece in the main area of a living area of the home.
