Here we are delighted to offer you this magnificent Antique Burr Walnut Ormolu Pedestal Desk that was made circa 1880.
It was probably made in the workshops of Holland & sons, a prestige firm of cabinetmakers.
This desk is made in the 3 parts, consisting of a pair of pedestals and the top.
It is made of burr walnut with inlaid panels to the drawer fronts, edged by a banding of kingwood.
The top with turret corners and having a fine inset hide leather writing surface with blind tooling.
Adding to the sheer magnificence of this desk are large gilt mounts of classical figures, as well as fine gilt cast mouldings around the drawers and plinth.
