Victorian Wellington chest

Victorian Wellington chest

This Victorian Wellington chest was made circa1875 using solid American walnut and figured walnut to the drawer fronts. NOW SOLD

Having the usual locking bar to the right and so only 1 key lock all the drawers.

The Wellington chest is fitted 7 graduated drawers all with turned knob handle pulls.

Wellington chests were the first filing cabinets and as the name denotes the Duke of Wellington had them named after him due to his exploits at Waterloo.

These have always been prime pieces of furniture in all my years of trading (46years) and so always have been hard for me to get them in for stock to sell.
