Victorian walnut credenza open end side cabinet
This fine Victorian walnut credenza open end side cabinet was made circa 1865
It was made in one of the top end workshops of the day. The cabinetmaker would have spent time selecting the timber to use and had the casting made by one of the prestige foundries at the time.
It consists of serpentine shaped open-end section to both sides with shaped shelves and then a pair of central glazed doors that have shelves behind.
All the shelves are covered in gilt tooled red leather.
The surfaces are in fine burr walnut and with kingwood banding, the edges and corners with superb gilt bronze mounts.
