This Victorian mahogany pedestal desk of the best domestic size of 150cms wide was made circa 1865. It is the most popular design for a Victorian desk as it has rounded corners.
The size gives you plenty of workspace and is also not too big for most offices or studies.
It is made in 3 parts so that this can easily be transported around your home or office.
The top section is fitted 3 drawers, the widest one at the centre above the kneehole and further smaller width ones each side.
The pedestals each with 3 graduated mahogany lined drawers. All the drawers have an attractive moulding running around the edges, this highlights the lovely, interesting flecking to the mahogany grain on the drawer fronts. The drawers are ¾ length of the desk, this allows amazing storage for papers, stationary and other essentials.
The gilt tooled red leather inset writing surface shows its use during its working life, as it provided great service in a barrister’s home.
