This Victorian burr walnut Sutherland table was made circa 1870.
The Sutherland table is of oval shape with fine burr walnut on the top.
The base with the legs that slide open on hinges to support each leaf. It has turned end supports, with a pair of carved cabriole legs with castors below.
The end supports are joined by a well-turned pole stretcher.
These tables are superb for a small dining table in an apartment or for use when friends come around and you need a fine occasional piece that can be lifted into place in the centre of a room.
It can be used with just one flap up.
