About Holland & Sons
Founded in the early nineteenth century, Holland & Sons became one of Britain’s foremost cabinet-making firms and, from 1843, operated under the name by which they are best known. The company earned a Royal Warrant during Queen Victoria’s reign and supplied furniture to many of the Royal residences, including Osborne House, Windsor Castle, Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House. They also furnished prestigious clubs, public buildings and exhibited at the major International Exhibitions of the Victorian era. Today, furniture bearing the Holland & Sons name is highly sought after for its outstanding craftsmanship, quality of materials and historical importance, with examples held in museum and royal collections worldwide.
A distinguished and increasingly collectable Victorian writing table, offering both practical functionality and the enduring quality associated with one of England’s greatest nineteenth-century furniture makers.
