Regency small copper samovar

This Regency small copper samovar was made circa 1810. It is made with a combination of coper and brass, that give a wonderful contrast.

A samovar was used to fill with hot water so that it could fill or refill cups at the dining table or in a drawing room.

The example here is of a rare small size and maybe for a bachelor.

The copper body is a ball shape with the fine ring swing handles to each side.

To the front is the tap for pouring, this is made of brass. It stands on a stepped square base with ball feet under.
