Maple & co were famous for the quality of design and manufacture in the Victorian and Edwardian period. Using fine timber and using skilled craftsmen.
This extending dining table is an example of their fine craftsmanship as well as the quality of timber used.
The table closes to a large oval shape, with carved cabriole legs to each corner with concealed brass rolling castors under each leg.
The table has a wind-out mechanism using a handle and a high-quality telescopic winding mechanism. It glides open so that you can set the extra leaves in place. You can use the table close with no leaves or with 1 or 2 set in place according to the number of guests you have.
We have re-polished this in the traditional manner using our own specialist polishers. After French polishing, we finish with a wax to give it a lovely lustre.
