This Georgian style walnut chest on chest was made by a highly skilled cabinetmaker in the first quarter of the 20th century. NOW SOLD
The chest on chest was made in 2 parts. The top section consists of 3 small box drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers below. All with the original brass handles. An extra refinement is the fine quadrant moulding running up the edge of the top section.
The base section with a brushing slide and three graduated drawers again fitted with the original brass plate handles.
The chest on chest (tallboy) has crossbanding and herringbone inlay design around the drawer fronts with cock beads.
It stands on straight bracket feet.
