This Edwardian walnut small bureau was made circa 1910. NOW SOLD
It was made by a cabinetmaker using recycled redundant timber, this is why this example of a bureau has such a period look.
Made of a very desirable small size so that it can fit into any home.
Bureaus are a wonderful piece of furniture as you not only have the beautiful exterior but also the extra charm once the fall is opened and it reveals the fitted interior with a cupboard, pigeon holes and small drawers.
The onset of the i-pad and lap tops mean that these desks can be used easily in the modern home.
This bureau has 4 graduated drawers, each fitted with the original brass handles and crossbanded with herringbone inlays.
The desk stands on shaped bracket feet.
