This Edwardian walnut extending dining table was made in the workshops of James Shoolbred & co. NOW SOLD
James Shoolbred were in Tottenham Court Road, London. In the 1870’s they started designing and producing high quality furniture for sale.
The company of James Schoolbred & co. ceased trading in 1931.
There are many collectors of Shoolbred furniture, as the company produced items of style and quality.
This dining table is made of solid walnut having 2 additional leaves, it can be used closed with no extra leaves or you may use 1 or 2 in any one time to suit the seating numbers on the day.
The table stands on solid walnut fluted turned legs with a carved bulbous at the top. The bulbous with a cup and cover of segmented flutes and with carved leafage under.
The table stands on its original china and brass rolling castors.
The dining table extends by using the original handle, that as you turn it, the table slides open on a highly engineered Joseph Fitter patent winding screw. As it opens you cn then place in the leaves required.
