Here we have this magnificent desk of kidney shape. This desk was made in the period of elegance, the Edwardian era.NOW SOLD
Made in one of the best workshops of the day, probably Edwards and Roberts, who were renowned for making to this quality.
The desk was designed, incorporating the inspiration of Sheratons designs, and using some of the best materials available, to make this fine piece.
Made in a kidney shape, which allows you to pull into the centre of the desk and use the whole surface easily.
The top with an inset green gilt tooled leather writing surface.
This desk is smothered in lovely inlay, with urns, swags, and bell flowers.
This also has the very desirable feature of being fully panelled all around the back.
To the front the desk is fitted 4 bow fronted drawers to each side, and a wide drawer above the kneehole, all fitted with the original brass knob pulls .
To the back of the kneehole there is a shelf for books or other items.
This is a superb item of furniture, made at probably the best period of English cabinetmaking.
Imagine the envious glances this desk will bring, it is a real statement piece, but also with the elegance of the Edwardian period
