This Antique oak Carnarvon dresser was made in Georgian period circa 1800. NOW SOLD
It was made in 2 parts, the plate rack, and the base separate, this allows easy access to and around your home.
The plate rack with the original wide deal backboards, and the charming original blacksmith made cup hooks.
The rack stands on the wonderful pot board base that is fitted an arrangement of drawers, including the candle drawer that is set between the double arches.
Under the drawers are the finely turned front legs, that are in front of the wonderful pot board.

Originally a dresser was the first ‘fitted kitchen’ where so much of hard working farmers families lives rotated around.
This example would not have been in a small cottage of course, probably in the Estate managers home if not an important farmhouse.
