The example we offer here is a superior model, large in proportions and the carving better than the usual ones you may see elsewhere.
The solid teak Antique Burmese Davenport is fully carved and quite magnificent.
A door to the side opens to reveal 4 drawers in the interior, that have flush brass handles much like you find on military chests of the period. The writing slope lifts to reveal a storage space and small drawers
To the front to each side of the kneehole are a pair of carved legs with mythical birds running down to the feet of a mythical beast.
