Here we have this high quality 19th.c rosewood writing desk, with its rare superstructure. The early 19th.c Rosewood writing desk with a lovely tooled leather inset writing surface, with the superstructure to the rear with small gilt mesh brass grilled doors that open to reveal shelves or letter slots. It also has brass letter racks and a row of letter slots.The top of the stationary section is bordered by a wonderful brass gallery.
The desk also has the rare feature of a bank of 3 drawers to each side.

The desk is fitted its high quality gilt brass swing handles and the cup castors are stamped by Cope who supplied metal-ware to the best cabinetmakers in the 19th century.

The desk has a drawer to each side of the knee-hole and with 2 drawers running above it.

The desk is finished and polished to the rear, allowing you to have it stationed away from the wall.
