19thc. gilt arch top mirror
19thc. gilt mirror. NOW SOLD
This 19thc. gilt mirror was made circa 1820 in one the best mirror makers in France of the period.
The magnificent rococo ornamentation to the crest and shoulders sets this apart from the norm.
It is of rectangular form with the secondary demi glass above and then the rococo surmount.
The finely hand carved wooden frame that was then gilded, the mirrors with a good deep hand bevel.
This would have been commissioned to be placed in an important home in the early 19th century.
We have used our specialist gilder, who has worked on the Royal collection, including Windsor Castle to bring this up to its original magnificence.
