This superb 18th-century oak dresser base is a fine example of Georgian craftsmanship and timeless country furniture design. Crafted from rich, solid oak with a warm, aged patina, it features a wide central dog kennel framed by four turned columns to the front, creating a striking and practical focal point.
Above, three spacious drawers retain their brass handles and escutcheons, providing ample storage for dining or household essentials. The dresser’s lower section includes two panelled cupboards on either side of the kennel, each with well-figured oak doors and period locks.
Standing on traditional bun feet, this dresser base is of good wide proportions. Perfect for adding authentic 18th-century character to a country kitchen, dining room, or hallway, this piece beautifully combines form and function.
This dresser is of a lovely colour and as would be expected some signs of historic repair.
