This Victorian walnut pedestal desk was made circa 1870 and has the desirable rounded corners and edges to the front.
The top has the inset gilded green leather writing surface.
It is made in the 3 parts that you would always require; this allows for the desk to be easily transported to and around your home or office. (If a desk is made in one piece it points to it being converted from a dressing table or washstand for profit)
The Victorian walnut desk has the 3 drawers along the top and a further 3 graduated drawers in each pedestal, all are fitted with the original turned knob handles.
It has mahogany drawer linings, this is a sign of quality, added to the fact that Walnut was also another timber that is usually only used on the better-quality products.
