A Victoria library table of this quality would have been made for the professional classes to be used in their substantial homes and could be used in various situations in the home.
This would have been made in one of the best London workshops Holland & sons for example who also furnished the Liberal Club in pall Mall with such types of table.
It is fitted 2 drawers to the front, both beautifully lined in mahogany, and the rear having dummy front so that this can be set away from the wall or used in a bay.
Standing on turned end supports with carved cabochons and a turned stretcher joining the ends.
