The Victorian serpentine inlaid marquetry corner cabinet is of serpentine shape. It was made in 2 parts, the top section consisting of a single glazed door with 3 shelves.
The bottom section consisting of a serpentine shaped panel door opening to reveal a shelf and storage.
The door with a superb panel of floral marquetry.
This cabinet has large panels of intricate inlays and showed the skills the cabinet maker possessed as he crafted this stunning item to display and store precious items.
The cabinetmaker used many different timbers in the manufacture of this wonderful cabinet, the main timber is rosewood but there is kingwood, box, ebony, satinwood, and walnut.
