It is a very rare piece that would have been made for a very important home in the 19thc.
We have been fortunate to purchase this from a very important country home near the River Test.
It is of a bold serpentine shape with fine tapering columns to each side of the drawers.
The mahogany on the drawer fronts is fiery with lots of fantastic figuring to the grain.
Having a pair of half width drawers to the top and a further 3 full width graduated drawers under.
It would take a craftsman at the top of his profession to be able to make a piece of furniture to this standard.
The amount of storage this Victorian chest will provide is incredible.
