This Victorian walnut games worktable was made circa 1870.
This is a rare item as it is not only a desk but also a worktable.
The lid raises to reveal a writing surface that raises on a ratchet to provide a reading slope.
Under this is a drawer fitted for sewing and below that is a sliding box for storage of wools.
This table stands on a pair of superbly turned end supports at each end, that are joined by a turned stretcher.
