Regency rosewood cabinet manner of John McLean

This Regency rosewood cabinet was made circa 1820. NOW SOLD

This wonderful cabinet has many uses, a drinks cabinet perhaps, a bookcase or an occasional desk where you could work using the fall-down front.

The cabinet has the superb brass spindle gallery with the anthemion motifs to each corner.

The fall-down front with the interior with a fixed shelf, and to each side of this the stiles have brass line inlay, also to the doors in the base.

Under the fall are a pair of brass grilled doors with the indent corners.

The doors open to reveal the interior with 2 adjustable shelves.

The Regency rosewood cabinet stands on claw feet to the front and turned feet to the rear all are in parcel gilt.

The design is very much in the style of John McLean and may have been made in his workshops.

John McLean’s furniture was known to be of the highest calibre and his items were used to furnish many of the finest houses in London.

Delivery

UK mainland FREE Other destinations please contact us, and we will get a quote. We use a professional Removal company to transport our precious items and do not entrust them to usual parcel services. Therefore, delivery may be 7 -10 days, but it is worth the wait of course.

On occasions customers have been disappointed to miss an item as they e-mailed their enquiry instead of phoning, I would recommend that if you wish to get the piece, please call rather than e-mail. We are very friendly and easy to deal with.

Green Product

Antiques are very environmentally friendly items; they are the ultimate green recycled product. They have been used for generations, and will go forward for more generations, sparing the worlds resources. Unlike mass-produced modern items using scarce resources, cutting down acres of forests before being shipped for 3000 miles, used for a few years then discarded, before another load is shipped again 3000 miles.

We spend time choosing the best product, an antique item that must meet the strict criteria to be placed in Hingstons of Wilton stock.
