A refined Regency mahogany bergère library chair, dating to circa 1820, combining elegant period design with exceptional comfort. The chair features a beautifully shaped mahogany frame with subtle ebonised detailing that highlights the lines of the arms and legs, a decorative contrast typical of high-quality Regency furniture.
The sides are fitted with traditional hand-woven cane panels, giving the chair its classic bergère form while also keeping the design visually light and elegant. The generously proportioned deep buttoned leather seat and back cushions provide excellent comfort, making it an ideal chair for a study, library, or sitting room.
The chair stands on finely turned front legs terminating in the original brass cup castors, allowing it to be moved easily while maintaining its refined appearance. With its elegant proportions, warm mahogany tones, and distinctive ebonised accents, this is a fine example of early 19th-century English Regency seating.
