This pair of Chinese yoke back armchairs were made in the 19thc. NOW SOLD

This style of chairs is named as yoke back as the back rail extends beyond the width of the seat resembling the yoke of oxen.

Typical of Chinese furniture the design is timeless and so these would fit in with modern furnishings as well as a more traditional setting.

This pair of chairs have an interesting history as they until recently had been for decades in the accommodation of St. Pauls cathedral in London
