Edwardian satinwood duet stool
This Edwardian satinwood duet stool with the delicate hand painted decoration was made in the Edwardian period circa 1900.
The Edwardian era was known as the age of elegance and this duet stool encapsulates the term.
Having a square tapered leg to each corner finishing with spade feet, the stool has a lifting lid to reveal a satin birch lined interior for storage, originally it would have been for sheet music. The lid is held secure in place when opened by a wonderful brass elbow this is probably the best example of one of these you will see.
These duet stools can be used at a piano but of course they can be used elsewhere in the home as dressing stools or window seats, as well as seating in a drawing room.
