This Edwardian mahogany envelope card table was made circa 1910.
The card-table has the envelope leaves that fold open to reveal the baize playing surface as well as the counter scoops. The leaves fold open using the lovely quality strap hinges.
To lift the leaves open you swivelthe top and a concealed button lifts one of the flaps up so that you can then open all 4 flaps, once the topis swivelled fully the button drops back into place, leaving a flat surface.
It is fitted a drawer with the original brass handles, and is cross-bandedto match the top surface.
The card table stand on tapering legs with box stringing and finishes on the original porcelain castors.
The legs are joined by a cross stretcher with a circular inlaid plapform.
