This Camphorwood ottoman was made in the 1920’s for use by a British family to use when they were living in India or Hong Kong. NOW SOLD
Camphorwood is a special timber as it gives off a delicate perfume when in a raw state. So, when you open the lid you sense the perfume, the outer body is polished and so the scent is trapped.
The body of the lovely mellow golden colour and applied with the brass lock plate and hinges to the rear. The original brass carrying handles to each end.
Our specialist leather craftsmen have deep buttoned the lid with fine hand dyed and antiqued leather.
These ottomans are so versatile and can be used not only at the end of a bed but also as coffee tables or in bay windows, landings or other rooms in your home.
